Lifebuoy Friendship Hospital is the first floating hospital of Bangladesh. French river barge from 1939, re-converted into a medical unit for the isolated populations of North Bangladesh, LFH has been operational for around 15 years. Refitted in 2011-2012, she is ready for service for another 15 years. LFH is the first unit of floating hospital starting the Friendship Fleet to bring free medical care to the most in need, isolated populations of the Brahmaputra River nomad islands.
